Snooze a conversation

Hide a thread from the default queue until a chosen time, then let it auto-reopen and rejoin the waiting queue.

Open the thread's actions menu

Next to a fan's name in the open thread, the menu holds the follow-up actions: snooze, mark unread, and close.

Pick a window

Three quick options: 1 hour, 3 hours, or Until tomorrow morning (the next 09:00 in your local time, computed fresh at the moment you click it — not a stale value from when the menu opened). There's no custom-duration field; these three windows are the only ones the panel offers.

The thread disappears — on purpose

A snoozed thread is hidden from Waiting, Unanswered, Whales, and All until its window passes. It doesn't vanish: the separate Snoozed tab lists everything still asleep, with a "wake" button on each row that clears the snooze immediately.

It comes back on its own

Once the snooze time passes, the thread simply reads as open again the next time anyone loads the inbox — there's no background job clock-watching it, and no action required from you. If the fan is still waiting on a reply at that point, it rejoins Waiting at the front of the line for how long they've now been waiting.

The other two actions in the same menu

Mark unread puts the thread back into the unread count so it re-enters the waiting queue without actually snoozing it. Close clears the thread out of the open views entirely (no auto-reopen) — use it for a conversation that's genuinely done, not one you're deferring.
